Our Philosophy

Our three founding partners of ADZ Law, LLP, Tülin Açıkalın, Jessica Dayton and Lauren Zorfas share a common passion for pursuing justice for individuals and families facing difficult legal challenges. We have witnessed firsthand that access to legal representation equals access to justice. Together we bring our considerable legal experience, knowledge and training to zealously advocate for you.

Our style is to educate, inform and support you throughout your case. We have the experience, skill, and determination to fearlessly pursue legal remedies on your behalf, and also the calm temperament necessary to resolve disputes through peaceful negotiation where possible. We believe in client autonomy and agency. As a result, our first step is to clearly explain options and possible outcomes so that you can choose your own path.

Whether you have been a victim of a crime, are seeking safety, dissolving a relationship, or tackling post-separation parenting issues, the civil and criminal legal systems are complex and can be daunting. Fear should not deter you from pursuing your legal options. You deserve attorneys who will take the time to listen to your concerns and who will empower, support, and fight for you.

Our commitment to social justice and service is the cornerstone of our professional lives. We have spent over forty years, collectively, in careers dedicated to social justice. We have provided advice and insight regarding the needs of families, children, and crime victims through our active participation on a variety of local and statewide boards, commissions, and advisory committees including California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto, Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse, Family Violence Appellate Project, California Judicial Council’s Elkins Family Law Task Force, Family and Juvenile Law Advisory Committee to the Judicial Council, San Mateo County Domestic Violence Council, Legal Process Committee, Fatherhood Collaborative, and San Mateo County Blue Ribbon Commission on Foster Care.

We also believe in mentoring and training and sharing our passion for service with the next generation of lawyers. We all actively mentor pro bono attorneys and legal interns and have each been invited to train at professional conferences throughout the country.

ADZ Law, LLP represents clients in San Mateo County and the San Francisco Bay area of California. We invite you to contact ADZ Law, LLP to schedule a consultation to learn more about our practice areas, our team, and how we can help you.
